A short history of India from the earliest times to the present day by E.B. HAVELL

This is a history of India intended for both Indian and English students. At the time of writing this, the author felt that Indian history was written for propaganda and argued that, instead, it needed to be appreciated as one of the greatest chapters in world history. This book is divided into two parts. The first part is about “First Aryanisation of India” covering the India of the epics Buddhism, Jainism, and Bhakti culture. The second part deals with “Muhammadan rule and the return of the Aryans” giving an account of the Mughal and British period.
